Job Description


Instructors’ primary responsibilities are to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings, act as professional and academic role models and commit to student satisfaction.  For the clinical instructor, this includes teaching in the clinical and lab setting.  All Concorde associates are required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde’s Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.


  • Is knowledgeable of program goals (JRCERT)
  • Understands the clinical objectives and clinical evaluation system (JRCERT)
  • Understands the sequencing of didactic instruction and clinical education (JRCERT)
  • Provides students with clinical instruction and supervision (JRCERT)
  • Evaluates students’ clinical competence (JRCERT)
  • Maintains competency in the professional discipline and instructional and evaluative techniques through continuing professional development (JRCERT)
  • Maintains current knowledge of program policies, procedures, and student progress (JRCERT)
  • Plan and organize the clinical experiences for the achievement of student learning
  • Develop clinical rotations, distribute to students, and post in appropriate areas of clinical facilities
  • Orient the students to the clinical facility
  • Promote growth of students in the clinical setting by monitoring the successful completion of objectives
  • Evaluate student progress
  • Refer students to Program Director as needed
  • Evaluate clinical written assignments
  • Evaluate student performance in the clinical setting utilizing the appropriate clinical objectives
  • Adhere to the philosophy, objectives, policies, and standards of the school and clinical facilities
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff personnel in clinical facilities
  • Attend all faculty meetings
  • Perform other duties, as assigned


  • Must have a minimum of four years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught (ACCSC)
  • Must have two years clinical experience in the professional discipline (JRCERT)
  • Must possess a related degree at least at the same level of the course the faculty member is teaching (ACCSC)
  • Must have an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists current registration in radiography or equivalent (i.e., unrestricted state license for the state in which the clinical setting is located) (JRCERT)
  • Faculty must meet JRCERT Clinical Instructor objectives as noted above
  • Previous teaching experience strongly desired
  • Must demonstrate proficiency in supervision, instruction, and evaluation
  • Faculty will be knowledgeable in the course content
  • Faculty will be effective in directing and evaluation of student learning and clinical performance
  • Faculty will be prepared in Educational Theory and Techniques
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
