SUMMARY

Concorde Career Colleges, Inc. (Concorde), operates 17 campuses across eight states focused on preparing America’s next generation of health care and dental professionals for rewarding careers.  Concorde’s 25 student-focused academic programs and personalized support prepares graduates for in-demand careers in nursing, dental, respiratory, diagnostic and other health care roles. Concorde is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC) and the Council on Occupational Education (COE).

Concorde is looking for a dynamic HR leader to fill a Regional-Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) position.  The Regional-HRBP is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and Concorde management.  The position serves as a consultant to assigned Campus Presidents and campus leadership on human resources related issues.  The successful HRBP acts as an employee champion and change agent.  The role assesses and anticipates HR related needs.  The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflects the business objectives of the organization. 

SCOPE

The successful HRBP manages human resources responsibilities for an assigned region, collaborating across other regions and with senior HR leadership to ensure consistency. Responsibilities include supporting the employee relations function and additional department functions while ensuring application of best practices in HR management. The HRBP implements operational efficiencies, and can be charged with overseeing benefits, payroll, compensation, performance management, training and development, termination, personnel records, legal compliance, employee recognition, ADA & FMLA leaves, or unemployment.  Working in tandem with campus presidents, academic deans, managers and supervisors to engender culture of excellence and high performance in the workforce, the Regional HRBP will be required to display professionalism and uphold Concorde’s Mission and the core values of respect for the individual, integrity, teamwork, customer service, and achievement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with leadership in assigned region to implement HR best practices and provide proactive support of HR programs and approaches
  • Manage ongoing HR processes and programs (performance management, orientation, development planning, salary administration, personnel files, benefits, etc. as assigned)
  • Train Campus Leadership and Staff on relevant HR topics
  • Mitigate risk to the organization and associates
  • Consult with campus management, providing HR guidance and policy interpretation when appropriate
  • Be readily available to assist and advise campus leadership on HR related questions
  • Work closely with management and associates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to align with management on employee relations issues (i.e., performance, compliance with labor laws, etc.) and change management (e.g., coaching, performance improvement plans, counseling, and career development)
  • Investigate and respond to third party discrimination charges as needed
  • Assist with planning and communication of employee and career development processes
  • Take responsibility for assigned content area(s) and lead company-wide development/enhancement of processes/programs
  • Stay current on employment law and educate leadership on implications, monitoring state laws for any changes affecting campus locations
  • Visit campuses as needed
  • Perform other duties, as assigned

Job Requirements

EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or related area, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 4-6 years of increasingly responsible human resources experience, human resources consulting experience preferred
  • SHRM or HRCI Certification preferred
  • Knowledge of Federal and State employment law
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills displaying positive leadership characteristics
  • Demonstrated collaborative, negotiating, counseling, and problem-solving skills
  • Critical thinking and change management skills
  • Self-starter, proactive, demonstrates sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Must have excellent organization and prioritization skills and demonstrate initiative and act in a self-directed manner
