Job Description


The Licensure Readiness Advisor (LRA) will provide essential support to the Director of Nursing in the preparation of existing students and graduates for licensure requirements, exam scheduling. In addition, the LRA will assist in preparing annual nursing reports for various entities. The LRA will also continuously monitor student academic progress and attendance to promote timely student progress through the program.


Administrative Duties

  • Assist Nursing Administration in planning curriculum adjustments based upon industry changes and Nursing Practice Act.
  • Work with faculty in identifying at risk students and assist in the preparation of Academic Success Plan (ASP).
  • Serve as campus representative on national curriculum committee.
  • Assist Director of Nursing Education (DON) with processing graduates out of program, to include: confirmation of petition to graduate process, submission of transcripts to the board of nursing, review of all student advising and attendance as final before graduation.
  • Provide licensure statistics necessary for internal reports, Board of Nursing, and accrediting bodies.
  • Participate in student interviews for entry and re-entry into the program.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Remediation Duties

  • Review of student final comprehensive exam and access to remediation modules.
  • Organize weekly tutorial sessions and follow-up tutorials to assist graduates with completion of remediation plan.
  • Confirm student and graduate completion of remediation and greenlight process.
  • Recommend and Proctor additional testing for each student assigned based on student needs.


  • Current unencumbered RN license.
  • Must meet State Board of Nursing requirements for instructor positions.
  • Must have knowledge of NCLEX® examination blueprint and test taking strategies.
  • Must have knowledge of administrative procedures, and knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment at a level generally required through 5 years of related experience.
  • Strong customer service skills and ability to critically think will be required to assist students with individual needs and concerns.
